I selected and hand cut different colored pieces of art glass, then foiled and soldered them and finished the seams with a pewter patina. To illuminate it, fill it with a string of 10 Christmas lights. There's an opening in the back for the cord to run through, so your lantern will sit flat on any surface you choose to display it on. ~3" on each side.
