Jamaica Inn medical memoirs published in 2003By Daphne du Maurier A wonderfully atmospheric novel of dark days smuggling in 1800's Cornwall. Mary, whose mother has recently died, goes to live with her aunt and her family at the brooding Jamaica Inn. What she finds is a violent, dark and dismal home. Du Maurier was a prolific writer and much of her work is set in a wild and desolate Cornwall. This is a wonderful starting point for anyone wanting to read some of her work. First published in 1936.
