2016 | Feudi di San Gregorio Piano di Montevergine Riserva | Taurasi Ice Malbec and great aging potentialOffering a dark and savory underpinning of cured tobacco, fresh earth, leather and iron notes, this focused red is also fresh and vibrant, with ripe, crushed black raspberry and mulberry fruit, plus hints of red licorice, espresso crema, graphite and milled pepper. Showing a core of taut, fine grained tannins, this 2016 is still tightly meshed and dense after extended aging. This opens nicely in the glass and should shine with additional cellaring.
